Considering a speed triple. Opinions?
Did anyone go from jap sport bikes to a speed triple? I'm seriously considering one as I always loved the way they look. Did any of you guys regret switching?? What should I watch out for? How reliable are they?? I'm looking to purchase the 05-10 models since I think they look the best. It will be for mostly city and highway riding with some canyons and a few track days in between. Will the speed be too big and heavy to have actual fun?? Should I consider the street triple instead?? Any suggestions or input is welcome. Thanks

Best advice is to switch out bikes with a buddy on a ride for a day. I was tempted for the past few years and pulled the trigger on a Speedy of my own after riding a buddies for a bit.
I found it a lot more comfortable on short and long rides, turn in is a little more sharper than my old 600RR and I ended up being way more confident and faster on it in the twisties!
I haven't taken it to the track and didn't think about it much as I hear that I would have to raise the rearsets up a little and would prefer to use a bike that can make it past 145mph on the straights

Just bought an 05 in blue from the original owner with only 5500 miles. Drove 3 hours to pick it up at a sick deal. Best choice ever! Didn't get to ride it much yet since It need tires but I love the way the bike looks and feel.

I went from an 06 Ninja 10 to a 06 Daytona 675, best decision ever. The bike is much more nimble and the torque is so usable on a daily basis. I don't think the street triple is much different than the Daytona.

I have an 06 Daytona 675 and love it. Try and take one for a test drive you will love the sound and handling. If you are stuck on 3 cylinder the new Yamaha fz09 is a good inexpensive choice
