What is the turbo kit worth? That's almost a 9 year old bike. If the value is what it needs to be for the swap, it's a nice enough bike. The extra CCs should help it run with the newer 600s.

ninja's are eh.... i've never ridden one, but i've heard bad things about em. I'd stick with ur original choice of the cbr
i've rode the cbr, gsxr, r6 and a few others... all are fun bikes and have certain characteristics that make em all slightly different from each other, but since u already rode and fell in love w/ the cbr, i'd stick with it!

the turbo kit is worth about 3-4 grand. I would love to get a cbr but i feel like there outta my price range and the only this i dont like about the ninja is i heard it was heavy and its carbureted. How hard are carburators to mess with

Carbs are no big deal at all, as long as they're in good shape. If the bike sits for more than a few weeks without being started, they need a good cleaning. If it sits for a few months, better rebuild 'em. It only costs about $100 (for parts) usually, though. Choke is nothing to be scared of... In AZ, we only need the choke in the winter
With all that said... Please don't get a sport bike for your 1st. Get a Suzuki SV650 or a Ninja 250. Even a Ninja 650R would be a better beginners bike than a CBR600RR.

Carbed bikes never were an issue for me. Choke it till it starts, half choke till I get to the end of my street, choke off and go. Add Stabil and run the fuel out of the carbs for winter storage. Always fired right up in the spring.
That said, I do enjoy the fuel injection on my VFR.

^ I had a CB650 Nighthawk for a few years. I just topped off the tank in the winter and let it run for 10 minutes every couple of weeks. It was a great first bike. The thing started up better than any other bike I have ever seen. If it ever took more than a second to fire I had accidentally hit the kill switch.
