Default 17x9 wheel offset of 60mm vs 65mm

I've tried a few searches, but I can't find a thread that seems to cover the question I have. I'm trying to figure out if the difference between a 60mm offset and a 65mm offset in the front on a 17x9 makes much of a difference. Will 60mm touch the outer fender liner for sure and 65mm is a better choice? I don't want to roll my fenders and I have replaced the plastic fender liner clips with lower profile ones already. I know this is just over a 1/4 inch, but I just want to have a little more info before I purchase a set of wheels.

I do have after market suspension and about a 1.5 to 2 inch lower than stock.

On a tire related note, has anyone tried the BFGoodrich g-Force Rival tire? Opinions if you have tried them?

Thanks.

you should go with the +60 and not the +65.

some people who run +63 report rubbing the control arm at full lock. this is probably on 245s or 255s tires.

people with +60 don't have this problem.

60s don't rub the control arm because it pushes the tfire further out, there by greatly increasing your possibilities of getting the tire caught on the fender. If your really concerned about it, I'd run a 245 front and rear so you can still have the benifits of rotating.

In regards to the rival, still a fairly new tire. Not sure how it is in the wet or the cold but I drove a 750hp mustang with 295s all around and it did surprisingly well.

I rubbed my fender tabs when I ran 9+60 up front w 255's. Aggressive driving only of course. I agree with chetly. Go 245's to be safer. I wouldn't run +65 due to control arm rubbing. I'd rather flatten the top two tabs. You don't need a complete roll. It only rubs on the tabs.

I rolled my fenders just to be safe with 17x9+60 wheels. I also ran a 245 tire as well for extra clearance. Depending on your ride height and alignment you will rub the fender liner though.

Thanks for the 245 and the rival feedback.

Those two tabs are plastic right? I've replaced the plastic clips already with much thinner ones is this what you're referring to or are you referring to the point where this tab attaches to the fender?

The tabs I speak of is on the fender. It's what those clips attach to. After it rubs on the clips it will rub the tabs next.

Ok, thanks. I'll certainly keep this in mind once I get wheels and rubber!
