Default 23 days without a grind.......

Happened again today when shifting @ 9K in 1st gear. It went into 2nd with a loud "grrrrrr". Right after it happened, I redlined 1st a few times and it was smooth........ Can someone teach me how to drive this car?

Shifting at 9K has an 80% of a grind my friend. The tranny and clutch is just not capable of handling 9K 1st-2nd gear shifts all the time!

Slow down your 1-2 shift by about a quarter to a half a second. Give the synchros a chance to work. I never grind anymore.

happened again just now, this time I shifted really slow at 6K, it just grinded and stuck somewhere between neutral and 2nd, I had to pull back and shifted to 2nd again.

Forget it, I give up. I don't care about these grinds. ....... I ll deal with it when something is broke.

The biggest mistake most newer people to redline shifting is they get too excited and want to shift too quick and just jam it into gear. Work on just being smooth with the shifting so it feels natural. You don't want to force gears. Also, how do you grip the shift nob. I've been using the palming method *used on short shifters* and it's a bit smoother than the joystick approach.

I have the Voodoo knob and I use the palm method too.
