Where would you guys recommend for a great photograph location. Preferably no fog and where we can see the sunset. Not planning on driving super far too. Anywhere from san mateo to fremont would be good. Thanks guys.

Go west. The Santa Cruz mountains. Skyline has tons of scenic sunset views clear to the ocean.

How would we get to the santa cruz mountains from hillsdale area or from 101?

go 92 west. all the way up the mountain(past 280) then Make a left on hwy 35 (aka skyline)

hwy 35 rides along the ridge all the way. Drive until you find a spot you like.

There is a parking lot maybe about 5 or 6 good turns from 4 corners on the Santa Cruz side. I'm sure you could get some decent pictures taken during sunset over there, especially since you will have shade due to the trees but a nice backdrop.

If you take 35 down to the hot dog stand at 4 corners and just go right you can't miss it on the left hand side.
