Flashpro dealer, support in San Jose area
I'm interested in installing a Hondata Flashpro. A local reputable source for Hondata products told me that they could not legally work on CA registered cars with non CARB approved modifications. Nor could they comment or advise on installation of flashpro on a CARB controlled, CA registered car.
How do south bay people purchase flashpro and obtain tunes for their S2000?

I know blacktrax will tune FlashPro but they don't like to touch anything none crab legal due to legal issues.
You could try Elite Performance in San Jose they have a dyno Tune S2000 never used them
You could go a remote tune
I would try to Lawrence DSR <lawrencebuilt@gmail.com he is in San Jose; never used him but he has tuned a few of my old friends with good results.
Tuning is billed hourly@250/hr. at DSR
I went with a Karcept tune but Hondata on a AP1 is a bit more AP1 problems

Installing FlashPro consists of temporarily plugging it in under the dashboard. All it does is talk to the ECU like any other ODB2 device. Getting someone to tune it is the issue. There are no "tunes" included that made any sense to me. Nothing remains on the car after that is done. FlashPro is for off road use only. So finding a dealer in California to tune the car is difficult and you need to revert every two years for smog. Lots of guys here have and are doing it.
Getting a lowered VTEC requires a high flow cat or cat delete. Smog testing will probably note either of them.
There is a CARB compliant version of FlashPro but I don't know anything about it or what it can do.
I passed smog -- in Ohio -- at least twice with my FlashPro tuned S2000. No visual, just plug into the ODB2 port at the self-service kiosk.

I've heard but can't verify that some FlashPro tunes deliberately disable the aft O2 sensor to allow more efficient tuning. Reflashing to the OE tune should re-enable it. Good news is @Chuch_s2k only needs to retrofit the OE catalytic converter to pass California smog.
