JDM diff work in USDM?

Was wondering... does a JDM differential work in our USDM cars?

i think on the S2k, 90% of the parts are the same? differences are only in the RT/LT drive stuff incl the front powersteering rack and some of the linkage. but everything else should be the same... BUT it might be different for the VGS model? not sure...
