another  for Joey & Ben! thanks for squeezing me in tonight and mounting some new front tires on my commuter.
as Ben noted, i was really lucky that i decided to swap out my damaged, passenger front tire ASAP. tire had a bubble in it, and after dismounting from the wheel, you could see a puncture starting to develop. the steel belts were even broken, so a blowout would've occurred very shortly!
Good thing I had the foresight not to drive the car to work the last couple days. I just happened to glance at the tire on my way out to the car on Sunday morning. I saw the bubble in the sidewall and what looked like some curbage on the wheel. i thought my gf or Mom has run into a curb or pothole. i had recently let both of them drive the car. it looks like it was probably a pothole because the outer lip of the wheel isn't damaged, as they would be if this was due to a parking mishap. there'd be a bunch of other damage if someone hit the curb directly too. make sure to keep your tires properly inflated. i was reading about tire bubbles online, and underinflated tires are more susceptible to such damage when hitting debris or potholes.
