This is perfect. Lol. I won't be able to make the May 7th event either. I don't have to worry about exhaust though .

If you want something really lax you can do autocross with SpeedSF. They don't do timing and its basically a free for all, all day. Before I starting doing track days I did an auto x day with them at Laguna Seca.

Whats the procedure to sign up for NASA? I was looking at their end of the may event for sonoma! Is that the one you're planning on too?

I'm shooting on may 8th for a track day if you want to tag along. Not sure where I'm going either Sonoma or buttonwillow, all I know is I'm going, just found out today about buttonwillow and I have some unfinished business with that track. But I really want to go to sonoma. Either way your more then welcome to sign up and come along if you need some pointers or help.

That's the same way I started, except with the Trackmasters autoX which is a similar format (non-competitive, 20+ runs). It's a great way to learn car control and get to know your car!

Go to the Norcal region site, here: http://nasanorcal.com/?/site/section_schedule/

Go to the Driving/Register tab and select your event. If this is your first time, sign up for HPDE 1. An instructor will be provided automatically. All you need is a driver's license, helmet, and a car and you're ready to go! If you don't feel confident in tech'ing your car, bring it to a shop along with a tech sheet printed from NASA's website. The shop I used to work at, WORKS Motorsports, is located right at the track and can do the inspections (but make an appointment). You'll also have to pay $45-50 membership dues with NASA but that's just once a year and well worth it, IMO.

I hope to be there in my green 260Z. I'll come say hi if I'm there.
