s2000 oem hard tops
Hey guys,
i've been out of the s2000 game for a while, so please bear with me....
my car has been in the garage for quite a while-- like a few months. after the first few times i drove it i saw that the soft top was starting to wear down. so now i'm considering getting a hard top. i'm looking for a berlina black one i've been looking around in the forums but i can't seem to find one thats the color i want or the condition i want. i know they have been discontinued by honda (such a shame) so i started to look on craigslist. i've seen some for sale but i dont know what is a fair price? can you guys help me out here?
also i hear that there are replica oem hard tops--- the last thing i want is something "replica" that doesn't fit well on my S. I was wondering if you guys had tips for discerning the real deal from the fake. i'd hate to drop a few thousand dollars and find out i have a "replica."
TIA
Ryan

When the HT'S were discontinued the going rate of 2200-2500 skyrocketed to 3000-3500. Pretty ridiculous, but that's the rate nowadays. Msrp was 3300. I'm sure you can talk them down to 3g's with hardware. But if you find the one you want, better jump on it. GT Motoring makes a oem replica made out of carbon fiber for $4200 only way to tell oem from a replica is knock on the ht. oem aluminum, replica either frp or carbon. You'll know by the sound it makes if you tap on it lol
