Default Speeding Ticket Truckee

Wife got radar at 83mph in Truckee tonight but the cop says it wrote it up for 75, or 10 over the 65mph speed limit.

Questions:
1. Any idea what the cost of the ticket will actual be?
2. Is there any reasonable way to fight this? Court date is in mid-october?

This will be her first ticket, wondering if her $42/month insurance will be greatly effected as that is probably most bothersome to me. The irony is she's the slow driver of the two of us.

Might be in the $215 range.

Radar tickets are hard to beat, but there's still a chance to win. Cvc 22349 are tough to beat. What are the details on the ticket?

Her 1st ticket, she can do traffic school online instead of going to an 8 hour boring class, and still keep your good rate with insurance

Is insurance affected after traffic school?
Might be worth fighting it in court or via mail, as a path to dismissal!

insurance is not affected by taking traffic school due to it being non-existent on your driving record.

sounds like a good option then is trying to fight it, followed by taking a class if it is found guilty

If you fight the ticket in person, it's up to the judge if traffic school is an option anymore.

To the OP, I still have my old ticket assassin forms. Pm me the details of the ticket. Only bad thing about trial by declaration (fighting the ticket through the mail) is you have to pay the bail amount when you send in your request to fight it

radar is hard to beat...

from what the cop told me every god damn time, 1-5, 6-10, 11-20, 21-25, 25+ are the ranges for each speeding ticket.. i've hit 21-25 and 25+ twice -___- each were $400. sigh.

take an online traffic school (3 hours with music and just clicking + common sense) and you'll be done with no affect on insurance... just don't get another ticket in 13 months haha.

traffic school for all the times i got speeding tickets, were $35 for california haha.

not too sure if non-californians, who got tickets in california, can do california traffic school but it makes sense if you do since you got the ticket here lol. i say just go to the court and ask how this works... or better yet if you see a cop, just ask them
