Default top slashed

Looks like I was next in line. Anyway, got a police report and I'm about to head out to the dealership right now to get an estimate. Anyone have objections to El Cerrito Honda? Their service dept looked pretty nice.

This totally sucks.

where were you parked?

bummer... hope the replacement goes well...

oh.. see if you can nab the latches off the old one...I've had to replace a couple of them... they've been under warantee, but I'm prolly off now and they charge like $300 for them. maybe you can keep them and pawn them off later to someone else who needs them...

No objections, only that there really isn't much to do in the area if you have to sit and wait for your car. You can take the shuttle to El Cerrito Plaza and hang out at Barnes & Noble for a while until they call you, then hop on BART back to Del Norte Station and walk across San Pablo back to ECH.

Parked at my girlfriend's apartment garage in Berkeley. I heard the alarm go off just before I was about crash. Normally, I just disarm and think nothing of it becuase it's fairly sensitive. Today, my gf was like "maybe we should just go check on it."

Anyway, it looks like it'll take a week or so to get this taken care of unless i want to fork up the $ first then deal w/ insurance after. I'm just going to wait it out and let them check out the car and do their paperwork before I get everything going. I want to see if I can get a hard top installed while its' there, but the cost quite a lot higher than i thought.

I'll keep you guys updated on the estimate and things like that. Hopefully though, you'll never have to reference this thread in the future.

If it's a clean slash, and not all ripped up, you can probably repair it for fairly cheap.

hey ev! saw your car again in berkeley just this sunday. does your bro look like you?

anyway heres an update:

the dealership estimates that the top + install will cost just under $2200. that's a bit high to me. they said labor is 8hrs. can anyone that's had this done elsewhere chime in on typical costs? i was going to have these people install a hard top for me too, but now it seems like their labor costs are way too high.

thanks!
