Who's going to SJGP?

All-in-all it was alright. The race itself was getting around the track was alright. . . the only complaint I heard was from someone who got a silver pass and who had to be upgraded (for free) to gold due to the fact that the race organizers hadn't put the 3/4th () silver grandstand up. Otherwise, with the wider course, and the lack of chicane, the racing was often off-the-hook.
I'm going back next year and moreover, not going to complain if I don't get comp'd for anything; I didn't feel cheated with what I paid (do bear in mind though, I bought my beer outside of the track ).

Went yesterday and today, one of my best friends' brother is racing in the Atlantic series with Forsythe so I got hooked up with sick passes, got to meet Almendinger and his wife(one of the hottest females around)
After the race ended up chilling with A.Wirth, R.Philippe and L.Maia from the Atlantic Forsythe team. Races were good but I was more in it for the whole experience, as I've never been to SJGP
Overall, good weekend!

yes it was a fun weekend.... i walked the track twice yesterday, well inside the "no man's land" (walkway between the K-wall and spectators' fence).
i was in charge of the track entrance at turn 7 where the formula BMW cars enter and exit, and man what a race for those F BMW kids, lotsa wrecks!!
pics will be up soon.

i thoguht it was pretty fun.. it was a complete blast walking through downtown and sipping coffee at a local shop and hearing the roar of the champ cars as their engines echoed through the streets. lol. seats were so-so but hey, if i stood up i could see a lot of stuff.. managed to snap a few pics with my rebel XT but i brought the wrong lens so i couldnt zoom much.. T_T another highlight was the drifting segment in which i got a few good vids.. i also got a good clip of the.. 3rd (i think) corner where the 3 cars were doing a simultaneous donut, it was awesome. defenitely thinking about going next year too!

I have a quick question for those who are in the know.
I am not a motor sports person, so I am not familiar with how these races work. I happened to look at the race results in the Monday San Jose Mercury Sports page and under the "Champ Car Atlantic Grand Prix of San Jose" (on page 11D on Monday's paper), it listed the first 25 finishers. What confused me is that after every driver, it puts "Mazda-Cosworth/Swift/Yokohama". So does that mean the first 25 finishers all belong to the same team? Or are they all sponsored by the same vendors? Or do they all use the same engine/tires suppliers (Mazda-Cosworth and Yokohama)? I am confused.

Thanks. So in other words, all the cars competing in the race are "identical" and it boils down to the skill of the driver to win the race (plus some luck in most cases). So was that the main race in the SJGP?
