Are you guys running Axle Spacers on your AP1 or AP2 cars?`
So I've heard of this mod before but NEVER had to use it and everyone of my s2000's are lowered. But after doing some reading it seems optional. Some people don't need it while others do....
Topic I was reading:
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/864...cers-required/
and more detailed with pics:

Some guys talk about swapping the CV buckets from right to left to give the gears a new place to create a wear spot. I'd rather go the permanent fix route and just add the spacers if needed.
My question to you guys is:
Are you guys lowered and if so, do you have any vibration on load during throttle or use the spacers to solve this issue? The spacers from Megan Racing are not expensive $100) but I wanted to see if this was a necessary mod before doing it.
Also if you do have the spacers at what mileage did you put them on the car?
I only have 15k miles on my s2000 so wear wise it should be that bad.....?
thanks
rick

If you are doing it for a permanent fix, then you are doing it wrong.
It does the same thing as swapping buckets, ie, moves the wear spot.
My car was stock height for 50k miles, and has been lowered for 60k miles.
No problems, no spacers.

Eventually your CV cups will pit, only a question of time. The harder you drive the car, the sooner it will happen.

I'm guessing that they are useful and do accomplish something. The geometry of the car has changed when you lower it, and some supporting mods would be logical.
Voodoo is right though, if you aren't driving the car hard, and it's a garage queen, then you probably wont notice it as soon or as much.
Moral of the story, drive more, drive faster!

My S2000 only comes out for track days and I had horrible vibration above 55mph under load. Installed the Exedium Axle Spacers from VEX Motorsports and the problem went away. Car runs great again and I love the simple fix.

It seems like it would move it to a new area.

I actually have no idea how much they move, but I don't think it is much, however putting in the axle spacers does seem to fix the problem, if temporarily. I swapped my CV buckets a long time ago and have yet to have the vibration reappear. Perhaps the axle spacers do help prevent the issue?

I'm not sure if you've read this Rick but if you haven't you might want to look through it.

It looks like it gets moved out of its original wear location when spacers are used but the OP of that thread and I could be wrong. My mind can't calculate that movement

I went over the practice to check how much the axle moves throughout the suspension range. It didn't move much at all. I was skeptical on the spacers but ran out of option on Tom's car. We installed it and the vibration went away. What can I say....
