Default TSB's and .....

Hi,

I just had some work done on my '00 S2000 at Elk Grove Honda. It has 14K on it now. Ask for David Hampton and his tech is Todd. Todd works especially on the S2000's.

First, I had the clutch disc and countershaft replaced at 9k about 5 months ago for the common rattling/grinding problem. The rattle came back after several thousand miles. When surfing through S2Ki.com, I came across an updated, "stonger", clutch disc with the ending numbers XXX-055. They replaced it and the rattle is gone. Will update if it comes back

Second, I had a clunking coming from the rear wheels, especially when reversing in the mornings. Todd found some announcement about replacing the axle nuts. The noise is gone.

Dave and Todd are extremely helpful and knowlegable about our cars. I consulted Mel Rapton and Carmichael Honda and they are generally clueless when it comes to the S2000.

My car goes to EG Honda tomorrow. I live in Carmichael but ... Carmichael Honda BAD! They did my first clutch disc replacement and gave the car back with the steering wheel off-center ;(
I took it back to them to fix the steering wheel and check the alignment and it still isn't right. I will not be going back to them. I have heard good things about EG though

Hello everyone, Please let me know via e-mail if you are bringing your vehicle in to E G honda since I want to know when they are in here and also to make sure the right person does the work. The owner is very S2000 aware and wants to make sure our members are well taken care of!

It's my understanding that the steering box must be removed in order to perform the tranny work. Is that true?

Steering box does have to be removed in order to get the tranny out. ANd to your previous post, there are several really GOOD dealers in the Northern CA area, so good experiences are NOT that uncommon. Elk Grove Honda has a great reputation, AND a great supporter in the owner and from Blair! I think I am just a bit far to come up for good service tho.
