I've been using a Shorai.

My battery weighs 4.24 lbs, and starts the car like a champ.

Costco: 68.99. + Core.

3 years Non-Prorate
4-7 Years 100K Prorate

Battery Size 51R.. YES 51R fits.

When you bring it back, no hassle, no checking, gives you full money back.

I think I might go with the OEM.

Any ideas on where to get the OEM for the best price.

Thanks again.

if your going with OEM, then make sure you dont lose the receipt/certificate they give you.. the dealerships DONT keep information in their systems (well, atleast the one i bought mine from). i bought one about 2-3 months ago and misplaced the certificate in my house somwhere so hopefully i can find it.. otherwise no replacement for me. also, try to get a coupon for your local Honda dealer. i got mine for 100 bux + core.

honestly, i kinda wish i went with the costco one as they will have all their info on your membership..and its much cheaper

For my passenger cars, I get them at Costco. They rate pretty well in battery tests. I don't know if they have one appropriately sized for the S2K. I have a Battery Tender, as well, which works very well if your car is not a DD. I used the supplied harness so I just plug it in and it is good to go.
Battery tender is a good, small investment.

I know this is the Cali thread, but it came up near the top when I did a search for battery on the forums. Mine just died today, 84 months in. OEM battery that was put in on 10/05. I bought the car in 10/09 and I had my first jump this afternoon. Took it to AutoZone and it is only pushing about half of the CCAs. I believe that I get a 20% prorate on the battery as it is a 100 limited month warranty. I am going to call Honda corporate tomorrow to see if it is covered under my extended warranty in anyway. If nothing else, I hope I can get my local dealer to price match other Honda dealerships as I saw Bernadi Honda had it for $76 vice the OEM price of $107.

Just more information for the pages.

I went with the OEM. Got it for around $100 and the service dept installed it for free and gave me around $20 for the old core. It was the original battery. Not bad for a 7+ yr old battery. I took a peak under the Honda sticker and it is an Interstate, but it is an all-black Interstate not the usual green. Thanks for the help and comments in this thread guys.
