Cross wind landing is no joke. I prefer to fly on a calm wind day or might as well jump in a helicopter since your doing the same thing with both hands and feet.

A couple airports are famous for it or just bad winds in general like Chicago.

God fail not civil engineer fail.

I mean they lay out the airports in some cases to work around common wind patterns but ....uncommon wind patterns are well..... common.

Nature of the beast I suppose, but ya the engineers should def give some alternate landing strips or ...something.

yeah thats what i meant. if uncommon wind patterns/crosswinds are frequent in the area, then make an additional runway!

Tell your scary flying story?! I start:

About a year ago landing in Denver.
It was so bad that the pilot went onto the mic to announce that eventhough the wings were flapping so badly, they were designed to sustain tremendous forces and were actually the strongest part of the plane. So there was no way they would break...
He said, just relax and try to imagine you're on a ride at Disneyland...

Even the crew was totally strapped on, livid in their seats.
And you know, if the crew is scared...be very very afraid...
I look for them to hit the deck, then you know it's bad.

Next? I got plenty more...
