Help need smog with AEM V2
Ok guys so i live in Torrance and stopped by the closest smog check station and they are telling me that they can't do it with the AEM V2 intake on it.
I explained it was Carb pending but they turned me away.
Checking the AEM web site it tells me it's Carb pending and therefore exempt.
So the question is... who can recommend a testing station in or around Torrance that will not give me hassle for this.
Cheers
Ashley

unfortunately...as long as you're going to legit stations...you're not gonna find any. and there are more shady places that are becoming legit because of fines that are being handed down by the state.
in the eyes of the bureau of automotive repair and the california air resources board, pending still means not approved, and therefore not legal. easiest thing you can do is switch back your stock intake, it'll take you 45 min to uninstall the intake and switch back, then another 45 to install the intake...but hey, you wont have to worry about finding a station (which is highly unlikely).

I am not limited to a test only center... but I am a little noneplussed about this because AEM states on the web site as follows:
AEM intake systems carry or are pending approval for a California Air Resources Board Executive Order (CARB EO) number exempting them from the prohibitions of California Vehicle Code (CVC) 27156 which states that you cannot modify your car in the area of the emission control system. The C.A.R.B. E.O. number allows you to legally install and use the AEM intake system on your car.
