Just massage it into the seal with your fingers and wipe off the excess. You'll probably get some smearing on your roll up windows, not much you can do about it, just clean it off. The seals should not feel dry, instead it should feel more like a dogs nose; kind of rubbery and slightly moist.

i have never used this stuff,...is it any different than 303????

I bought this stuff when my car was new and applied as prescribed. I got tired of cleaning residue off the top of my windows so only used it once. A few months ago, I stumbled upon a write up of Einzett Gummi Pflege Stift' Rubber Care Stick (no stift KY jokes please) and bought some from Amazon. It's very easy to apply. Since it's only been two months and my rubber was in excellent condition to start with (and no squeaks), I can't really opine on its effectiveness. If there is an interest, you can search the web for user experiences.

I bought the Shin Etsu also, but just keep wiping them with 303 when I do the rest of my interior. Seals seem fine. Is the shin etsu only for if they are in dire condition?
