Okay, I bought two LED lights in red 1156, shaved off one of the ears and plugged it in and it doesn't turn on. Moved it around too, so polarity wasn't an issue. Were they bad bulbs? Am I missing anything here? Can anyone provide me with some guidance?

Check the end of the bulb. Sometimes the wire probes don't make contact with the car's bulb socket. I had that issue on cheaper made LEDs.

There's definitely contact going on. I'm gonna replace both bulbs on monday and see what's up.

Sounds like it's just bad bulbs... There's an off chance that you might have cut a wire somewhere, but in that case, the old bulbs should not work either

For mine, i ended up just sticking the bulbs in and it fit snug and it worked fine. Didnt match the locking mechanism, but i made it fit ;D

my old bulbs work, i went back to ddm for them to test the ones they sold me and they turn on. maybe i might not be making enough contact? anyone free this weekend or this wednesday to take a look?
