Ok, I suppose there could be some aerodynamic explaination for the sharp metal strings.... but what do guns have to do with kite flying?

they used to do this in China too - but there's supposed to be a length limit of how much glass/blade one can use, usually just a coupla inches below the kits itself. It's been around for hundreds of years - but I've never heard of this kinda craziness.
