Default Small tear in soft top

This morning on my way to the office, I noticed some light shining through the soft top above the passenger seat! I looked from the outside and sure enough, there is a small 1" long rip. What is the best procedure for fixing it? I am looking for the cleanest method for sealing it without having to worry that it will open up again.

Thanks guys!

It will open up again unfortunately. I've heard of people that take it to upholstery stores where people have done great jobs of hiding it, but unfortunately there really is no fix for it. Gotta replace it

I think I will go to an upholstery shop first. There is no sense in going to the dealer right? It's a very small tear and it looks like it can be fixed with some sewing and epoxy.

We don't have canvas soft tops, so it's not like you'd be sewing fabric together, you'd be sewing plastic (vinyl). I would say just try to live with it and when you can't anymore, shell out some of your hard earned money and buy a new one.

whats a good soft top besides OEM? robbins? something that is darker than oem, but just as or more durable.

Sewing it actually held it together when I did it, but it looked bad. Just make sure if you do sew it that you don't pull the thread through too many times or too close to each other or you get the connect the dots effect and it will tear an even bigger hole.

I used this on MY06, a known problem. Kept the 1/4 rip from getting any bigger. I placed around the rip and extended it to prevent any other tears. Cant go wrong for $7.99
