#31
i used castro syn on my integra and synt blen on my lude never had a problem.
when i got my s2k the previous owner just did a oil change with amsoil and had a spare qt in the trunk. i did a oil change last 11/09 and used motul 6000. didnt really notice any major difference. I'm curious, are any of u guys going to sow this weekend suning redline water wetter?

for the dino oils.
I now run Amsoil 10W-30.

But seriously, all the major off-shore power boats that use 1300hp v-8's swear by it.....So i then proceeded to read the data analysis reports of each of their gasoline engine oils, and omg. Yeah, I'm a firm believer in Amsoil now.
Just ran their 0-30 at Streets of Willow, everything ran smooth and strong. In fact I encountered slightly less oil burning than ever before at the track.
I'm not going to let it go for this long between changes, but this is taken straight off the Amsoil website:
"• Normal Service(3) – Up to 35,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first.
• Severe Service(4) – Up to 17,500 miles or one year, whichever comes first."
***********Please check out the 4-Ball Wear test graph half-way down. http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/sso.aspx
The moral of the story is: Amsoil

Oh and FYI, I work with the editors of Power Boat magazine. Having said that, the chief editor said that nearly all of serious power boats stay away from Mobile 1 because of its shearing properties. He himself only uses Amsoil for his extended use off-shore rocket.

currently using castrol edge and quite happy with it, but wanted to know if there are any benefits/loss switching over to valvoline maxlife since it seems to be significantly cheaper but isn't full synthetic and only a synthetic blend? additionally, car is an ap1 with a little over 100k miles...thoughts and opinions greatly appreciated.
TIA
