I only further went into that because you brought up the socialist thing.
My position is the same, democrats are closer to liberals which are DAMN close to socialists.

Now as for Democrats driving up taxes etc. it is BECAUSE they want a state of socialism to exist, by taxing the hell out of people they can further make this happen. It makes people more dependent on the gov't.

These go hand in hand.

I think you're completely missing the point, or avoiding it.

Your list (that you downloaded off the net) lists a whole bunch of programs that Republicans would love to chop and democrats would not. Most of them were started and are supported by democrats. Apparently you don't realize it? Idk.

If you can't define them into two simple groups then we're just spinning our wheels here.

I'd chop 90% of these and so would lots of Republicans. In fact I'd chop all but the defense plans. Some would exist with new terms, welfare would have a much shorter cap on it for example.
