Default '09 R1 D-Mode

So I was reading sportrider mag a couple days ago and came across an article on the new R1. It talked about the Yamaha d-mode switch which sounds like an awesome idea, so I was wondering if they offer it on any other bikes (or other manufacturers have such a thing)? I would love to see this come to the R6 or other bikes as a litre bike is still (and may always be) more than I want/need.

From another website:

"* The R1 features Yamaha D-MODE (or drive mode) with rider-selectable throttle control maps to program YCC-T performance characteristics for riding conditions. The standard map is designed for optimum overall performance. The

Doesn't Suzuki have a three-mode switch on at least their 1000?

If you really must, just ad traction control... http://www.bazzazperformance.com pricey, but no more then aftermarket exhaust.

Cool thanks for the info guys.

Traction control has nothing to do with it (for me at least) the main thing I like about it is the less sharp throttle response would be nice for when I'm stuck in traffic in the city, plus I tend to not have the length of straight aways on my ride home to really get these bikes into the high-rpm ranges, so any extra response/performance in the low-mid is great for daily riding, while still keeping the over-all performance for when I get to go have fun on weekends.
