Chris-
It was $160.00 shipped. Little to no real power gains but I needed a new air filter anyway. It has a larger air bridge and uses 2 big fat dry filters sproutting out of the front. Its really not a cold air IMO. The Vette guys praise the vararam b2 and its still a great price, just didn't feel like the added install, I don't really need +HP, throttle response and sound would be nice tho
.
And don't put off that CLB! I take great comfort in not hearing my steering column unlock every time I enter the car! Also I've slowly compiled a full redline fluid change (trans/diff), Taylor racing 10.4mm ignition wires, new OEM gm valve springs, gm valve seals and will probably throw in new spark plugs while its under surgery.
I'm not home but when I get there I'll post the corvette owners VHS that's been uploaded to YouTube. It shows you things like how to prep your own -camber and raise/lower the car and some other neat facts about the car.

You lose the top of the intake box. The thingy with the tiny little slot for air. Then zip tie the filter to the bottom.

there is also the flip tie mod where you cut a hole in the radiator shroud and spin the zip tie mod 180 degrees.

I did the zip tie, thought it was ugly, then bought a volante but with a CF air bridge. Just the smooth airbridge itself shows gains I believe.
love it! Def glad i went w the volant (or anything manufactured) my days of chopping parts up to increase power is over, i made and "destroyed" about half of the parts on my nissan sentra SER spec v lol, most of which helped the car but boy was it ugly!

What are you thoughts on exhausts? I'm wanting to go cheap and do borla straight pipes, but then again the stock ti's are pretty light and dandy, maybe just save for headers/xpipe? im all over the place with this...

I would just save for headers/xpipe as they will produce most of the gains from doing exhaust work. I don't believe the catback is holding much power back unless you are making a good amount of power over stock.

Ive been done with loud exhausts for a while. Exhaust nets you near enough no power and anything but straight pipes will weigh more. Do a long tube system first. I put in some electric cutouts with mine for when I want to be loud.
I've got cooling, safety, brakes, suspension/bushings, and wheels/tires ahead of power in my priority list. I imagine it will have more than enough power for me at the track, and I want to keep it as reliable as possible.
