Also the placebo effect of only a $50 full tank (14ish gallons) takes the sting out. Really theONLY big cost increase was $50 more per month on insurance but I'm 25yo and male
I believe the Vette also has much superior aero, which coupled at the long 6th gear really help it a lot on the freeway.

I average 15mpg in my C6, 75% local 25% freeway. Yes I beat the crap out of it lol. I love to hear that V8 at redline as much as possible

Well, if anybody can make the seats work, it'll be TTW. Don't you still have your E90 M3? I would think that could be the kiddo/mtb hauler.

dude i wish i could jam on the gas! ive stayed below 5k for two reasons, valve spring install pushed back to this next Monday, and where the hell can you go 100-120mph!? 1-3 redline and your heading past triple digits, love it for passing cars tho do you have good roads around? I went for a nice 20mph over the speed limit run on some great smooth back roads and got a damn ticket, wasnt even near hitting the throttle! maybe 30% through the long twists.

This all is actually very encouraging for me! I haven't really on my S in months now. I just try to keep it quiet these days. I'm 26 and my record is close to clean. I could handle the insurance hit I think. Maybe I could tell them it's my wifes and put me on the subaru??

As for low economy when you get on hit that isn't bad! When I rip on the S I generally get less than 10mpgs and I'm not that much quicker than a Honda Oddessy on an onramp

I'd love to idle on the freeway! 4k @70mph is getting old with a strippedout honda with invidia N1

My Vette envy grows by the day! Want!!

The S and the Vette are very diff animals..that's why I have one of each.

Wouldn't be satisfied with just either.

totally agree, wish i could have both!!! someday ill have a secondary little rice burner again, but until then i commute in traffic with my Z06 lol, runs a little hot in traffic at 91 degrees out (up to 230 deg for coolant) for my taste, but chevy techs insist its okay...

It'll pull a touch of timing at 230F coolant, but it is totally normal and nothing to be concerned about at all. LSx engines like to run hot by design.

very glad to have this re assured... kind of sucks having all these digital read outs you can pull up, i feel like i spend half the time with my eyes on the oil pressure/coolant temp/oil temp/ and avrg mpg. a little over protective i think. New valve springs/stem seals and ignition wires go in monday! that'll help with the paranoia.
