the thing was it was an 5spd auto. meaning it can do low 5 sec all day with no skill
the interesting thing is that it trapped only 100mph. they suspected it was the 4th and 5th gear where for fuel mileage.
so the mustang would get the jump first but at some point it will not pull away from a s2k

There are a lot of reasons the mustang could be faster with less hp. gearing, putting the power down better, driver, hp and torque curve, ect... HP alone isn't what makes a car move. They are going to sell a ton of these things for a couple years because they are new, and when the numbers start dropping off, they'll throw in some more hp and an IRS on the GT, I can almost guarantee that. J. Mays said this car isn't going to undergo any major revisions til the end of the decade, they'll have to throw people a bone every once in a while to keep them moving.
