Default 2007 Officially the Last Year for BMW Z's.

BMW is discontinuing the Z. I know that this is going to sound cliche, however, my friend who is a saleman for a BMW dealership told me that they learned in the meeting that BMW has decided to discontinue the Z and the 135i is suppose to be it's replacement.

So if you're wanting a Z, you can get one for cheap right now. I heard that they are doing so good deals on them.

No, he said that all variants of the Z will be discontinued, including the coupe and M versions.

I guess it's from the lagging sales. Also, since the Mini line is growing I guess they wanted to get rid of the smaller, slower selling car. The Z died when the Z4 was introduced. It never did catch on.

The 135i is NOT a direct replacement. The 135i is like a little hatchback while the Z is a beautiful sports car, imo.

Too bad. It's a cool car but not the prettiest girl on the block. I don't think it ever sold well. I've read about heavy discounts (though everytime I browse at the dealership they tell me the Z4s sell like hotcakes )

The 135i should stack well against the VW R32 (whatever they call it).

we'll see.

"Exciting accessories coming soon for the 2008 Z4 Coupe.
Check back for more information."

Taken directly from the BMWUSA.com website. In the Z Coupe/Roadster section. For 2008 models.

So, like a lot of "a salesman told me," kinds of "facts," this idea of the Z cars being cancelled is a fabrication. When will people learn that car salesmen don't know squat, are the last to ever know ANYTHING about a given car, and anything they supposedly learned was what they dreamed when they weren't paying attention.
