I think they'll sell these by the truckload (literally) if the price can stay under $60k. That engine alone would make the price worth it.

I'm curious to see what the output and rev limit are. If it can rev to 8k+ rpm and put out 550hp+, then you've got yourself a discount super car, at least sound and power-wise.

Have to imagine it'll make at least 520 hp (100 hp/L) on an "exotic" engine like that, revving so high. I wouldn't imagine it'll be as high-strung as a Ferrari engine but not much point in going "exotic" and leaving a bunch of power on the table...

Does anyone smell the potential for a new Ford GT?

Based on the Boss 302 I predict 420 lb ft and 530hp @ 8000rpm

I'm guessing high 50s for this car.

As much as I like the car, that would be a hard sell for me. I am too yuppie to spend near $60k on a Ford, no matter how good it is, over a Cayman. And I still think they should undercut the C7 in price if they can.
Right, but getting a C6 Z06 caliber engine in a sub $60k car is something to take note of. I also suspect the suspension and chassis will be upgraded accordingly. This will be a very serious performance car that simply outclasses the Cayman.

Furthermore, personally I would put this engine in a class above the LS7 on the basis that it makes as much or more power from almost 2 liters less displacement.

VERY excited about this car. I'm a huge BOSS 302 fan, and really like the new Mustangs. Just curious about the reliability of these flat crank engines... Lots of vibrations, bearing wear, etc.

Dont get me wrong. I'm loving the car. But for some reason I expected a Turbo 6 or blower 8 option. I know horsepower isn't everything, but from 662hp blown to an N/A 500hp is a huge change. If the price point is in the low $50's it's a beautiful change. But at $65k or so I lean towards the 2015 Corvette or even a year or so old 302 Boss. Guess that'll change when I see confirmed engine spec n track numbers. But until then I'm but looks are def amazing. And sounded beautiful.

I was reading a magazine that said this would be the largest flat plane crank in a production car. Is this true? They also said the largest currently is the one in the 458.. Is any of this true?
