Yeah for real man. Why buy a used 3-4 year old off lease M3 for $4X,ooo when you can get a brand spanking new 335i for the same price. It's not like the M3 is head and shoulders a better ride on the street. The track yeah, but not for everyday circumstances. I am sure that the introduction of the 335i will induce many people who had their mind set on a 3-4 year old M to consider the new 335i. I know I would. That being said...cheaper pre-owned M3s is a good thing!

Speaking of M3s...the next gen M3 should be a monster!! Can't wait to see what that thing will do.

the new 335 is cool, but the styling doesnt do it for me like the sexy e46's. i'd love to pick up an 04 6sp M3 for 25k!

if they get down to $25k within a year from now, ill have a hard time deciding between a used M3 and a Supra.

what are you basing this statement on when you haven't even driven a 335?

Think for a moment...You can get near M3 performance in a "new" 335 for the same price (possibly less) as a pre-owned 3-4 year M3. Many people will consider "not" getting the E46 M3 and go for a "new" 335 since it is "new." E46 M3 prices will have to come down for dealers to move them off the lots. Need proof? See the price trend of used C5 Z06s when the C6 came out. End of discussion. I don't need to drive it to know what will happen to prices. If I am wrong, which I won't be....then laugh

it's a luxury coupe with balls to go straight (kinda like g35 IMHO, granted 335 is quite a bit quicker). however i'll still take the e46m anyday just based on the handling alone. plus the m3 is still a bit quicker stock for stock

btw i think the 335 looks gorgeous...

a lot more powerful than i expected though....at this point the small turbos and aluminum block might seem to be the only obstacles toward attaining big power via more boost....but we'll never know till the car come out and someone starts to mess with it.

I'm told ESS has had for a little while now, they're already 100 up on both hp and torque.

And while power may put them in the same league, I wouldn't think that the 335 will dethrone the M3. May be completely wrong on this seeing that I've yet to see a 335 in person, let alone ride in one, let alone push one to the proverbial limit, but an M3 pulls off much more than just a powerful coupe. My guess is the 335 is going to be a quick yet serene ride.

There you go. The M Division's mission is much like Honda's: deliver power through high-rev, naturally aspirated engines. This may change someday, but the powerplant we'll see in the next-gen M3 will be in the tradition of the S54 M3 engine and the present-day M5 and M6.

It'll be a true enthusiast car. I just can't see the M Division screwing it up. That said, the 335 is an impressive achievement, and I agree that forced induction is the wave of the future.
