the s2000 should had put the top up like the driver wanted to. maybe this way, there would had been less of a disadvantage for the s2000 compared with the Z and M3 in the straight. btw, it's too bad they didn't race the boxster s instead of the base boxster. it'd be nice to see the outcome with that car competeing...

 

i could be mistaken, but in japan isn't the max hp output that manufacturers can publish is 280hp?? if that is so, then i'm sure the 350Z in the video is spec'ed just like the U.S. version only nissan chose to publish it for the jdm market at 280hp. this is same case with the GTR. it's always been rumored that the JDM GTR actually produces more power than the published figure.

 

I have that one, but I wanted to see it against some other cars.

 

I wouldn't say that's an even comparison now that the 350z roadster is out.
Compare that perf. vs. s2k now that's even.

 

I think it's funny that the 350Z 'Track' needed an additional oil cooler for a few laps, I guess that's understandable since it revs to a stratospheric 6600, (only 100 more than a Z06s pushrod motor), and it makes an astounding 82hp/L. And yeah it would be interesting to see the same video minus the GTR (although it's awesome) and with the Honda's top up, it was interesting that the Honda set a faster lap than the Z and was only a tick behind the 343hp M3,

The M3 was bound to swoop on the S2000....the S was quick on the corners but when it came to the straight aways the M, the Z, and GTR just said LATERZ! But lets not take our anger out on the M just cuz the S didn't do so hot. Not saying the S did bad....cuz the S is a really cool car, but not the best out there.
