Am I crazy?
There's nothing really wrong with the Genesis, but it's not the car for me, personally. I can understand why someone would think twice about making payments on a car that is ten years old. The Genesis is also more practical than the S2000 as an only car. But I agree with a previous poster - I'd choose from plenty of other cars before I'd buy a new Genesis 2.0T. But I'd also think long and hard before buying a 7-8 y.o. S2000 for an only car in the first place. As a second car it's probably better than a Genesis.
last weekend at an autocross event someone had a genisis v6 which pulled consistently solid numbers compared to various other drivers, it looked heavy but a bit more practical than a s2000. if it was me i would not get rid of the s2000 though, styling and performance are timeless, it is so well balanced i think its nearly perfect.
According to this article the 2013 Genesis runs a 14.2 in the quarter mile. So that would mean the s2000 is still faster than it by quite a bit.
With that being said, I can't find any advantages to the Genesis over the S2000. It being newer is not really a pro for me because I feel most newer cars are bland. Just my $.02.

I'll chime in and repeat pretty much everything that everyone has said - the Genesis Coupe is a very different car compared to the S2000. I liked how Diehard calls it a GT car. That's a good way of putting it. The car wants to be sporty, but it feels disconnected. The shifter is mushy, the steering is numb and the handling is sloppy. You feel the weight of the car while driving it. Forget about the earlier model Genesis Coupes (they had a horrible lag in the RPMs while shifting). It's a good buy if you want a decently quick car (V6), more space compared to the S2000 and a 10year/100,000mile warranty. For the money I would rather get a slightly used 370Z. Sure you lose the back seat, but you have a better all around vehicle. It's closer to the S2000 in terms of feel, but still has a nice GT feeling to it as well. Need the extra seating? Check out slightly used G37's, or even G35's. The Infiniti's also make GREAT GT cars and come as a better package compared to the Gen Coupe. If you are looking for something close to the S2000 in terms of how nimble it is then look at the FRS/BRZ. The second I even just sat in one I felt as though it was a great comparison to the S2000 (with the benefit of a fixed roof).

Okay, I'll be "that guy."
You have 2 years of payments left on your 8 year old Honda.
And you are considering buying a NEW car?

LOL
That's actually what I thought.
It's a subjective matter. As always, test drive and make your decision based on that. As stated above numerous times, they're very different cars. Don't just look at the numbers unless that's all that matters to you -- in which case why are you asking S fans for advice?
