But you guys, this thing is going to be priced like an exotic according to multiple reports, and it's not THE NSX.

~$60k, isn't that Alfa Romeo 4C money?

That's going to kill it for me.

The reports are speculating the price of a car that's purely speculative.

Even a loaded EVO or STI today is $40k which I believe is overpriced but that's just me.. If its $50-60k then its in an entire different world of hurt against the "M" cars, vettes, lotus, and more which will be a losing battle in my eyes.. As a Honda salesperson myself I can see a customer saying "Im not paying $50k for a HONDA" lol
Exactly, part of the reason why those great 90's Japanese sports car (300zx, RX-7, Supra) didn't sell well was because, they priced themselves out of the market.

Yes - and talk is cheap, so its easy to say things like this, especially when reporters are asking pointed questions like "will you replace the S2000?".

Honda isn't announcing anything, these are just one-off responses to questions people are asking. The only thing we really know from the original article is that some Honda employees got together and brainstormed ideas for a sports car, which is a spark of light, but far from a successor product to be released in a few years.
