Explain. It may not be built in the US but I believe it was designed in the US by GM. The Honda engine in the Atom was not designed in the US, it was not built in the US and Honda certainly isn't a US company.

Drivetrain

Transmission : 6-speed Close-Ratio Syncromesh
Wow, NICE. I wasn't aware there was a Atom 3.

As for why K20>Ecotec, I assume it is just more accessibly tunable. When was the last time you heard of a Lotus Elise swapped with an Ecotec? Also, paraphrasing Jeremy Clarkson when reviewing the Atom, "the Honda engine will probably outlive you."

Lice, none of your reasons provide any explaination why one is better than the other except the tune ability claim which may not be true. If nothing else that claim needs some sort of backing.

I should've clarified: I wasn't trying to say why it is better, I was saying why it was probably preferred.

Aftermarket support
Higher redline
More desirable in the market/better resale
+ I'd assume a Honda engine would be more fun, sound better, and be more reliable (that may or may not be true)

As much of a Honda fan as I am, after taking a ride in a Noble last year I would have to lean towards the ecotec motor.

What we really have is people guessing which they think would be better. Rather than blindly speculate I would be interested to hear the views of someone who has driven both.

[QUOTE=Lice Locket,Oct 5 2008, 11:03 PM] I think, maybe, many Atom owners like their cars... a LOT

Also, I don't believe they ever made the K20 Atoms ever in the States.

[QUOTE=rockville,Oct 6 2008, 10:00 AM] How can you assume that in the case of the Atom?
