Default Ariel Atom USA Article

I had the oppurtunity to review and write about the Atom. I figured out of anyone who would love the car would be my fellow S2000 owners. I know Xviper stopped by there before, but I am getting more involved in getting the US owners community setup.

I moved this here because it made more sense than OT.

Let me know what you think, I am on the list for one in the US, and I know many S2000 owners are already pumped about it.

There are few vehicles left in the United States that are about pure unhampered driving excitement. Most people would debate on what qualifies as a sports car in the sub 50k category. Additionally, responses would vary greatly depending on what region the driver lives in.

The question is: What makes a sports car? It

Do they have the option of lets say buying just the body and you put the engine you want in there?

For like all the B series motors out there.

GSR, Si, Type-R?

Yes, but thats something you have to talk to them about.
Fabrication will be a pain in the arse, but I think many people will be trying it.
IMO the K20A-R is a superior motor to the F20C. And true the F20C was the foundation for it, but I see so much more N/A tuning being done with the K20A-R and being done succesfully.

I think the K20z3 will be nearly as good

I know everyone is still B-Series crazy, but the true K20A2 and R varients as well as the new K20z3 are extremely more edgey than any b-series motor. The K20A-R is a perfect example of that, 8600RPM Redline, that on-off vtec thrust, more torque than any B-series R motor.

I know the K series engines are better, but what about those who have a B series waiting transplant?

Hasport may get involved in this if Brammo will sell the chassis without a motor and drivetrain. But this is speculation.

Chances are if they did it would be for k-support.
I am sure you could pay for some custom fabrication, but it would be costly.

It will be more like 41k by the time you are done, but yeah street legality in CA is coming, there is an owner there now so it may be straightend out.
