Yeah, that wasnt very clear. BMW says, "it is the first twin-turbocharged inline-six with direct fuel injection"

Personally, I think the AMG 63 engine is better then the 5 liter BMW...

It has higher power and torque numbers, albeit at lower rpm speeds which probably seems like it's not appreciated by these people (still, it's over 7000rpm redline).

I think I'll rather have a 500hp V10 motor with an 8250 redline then a 500 V8 redlining at 7000.

Wasn't that why the AP1s were so fun to drive?

The RS4 engine was literally throwing pistons through the head for awhile.. that thing took a lot of development.
Really?

Have any links to articles?

I was considering one as the next ride.

There's no need to be bitter...you bought your IS350 before the 335i was released. The 335i is rated at 300/300 and routinely dynos in the 270-280 RWHP neighborhood but we all know you're a hater. The 335i will beat your car in every performance category but the 3 series has been and will continue to be the benchmark. I will post baseline and with Procede dynos in the next week or so and we'll see how it stacks up against your IS. Also, the overheating issue is mainly with early build automatics before the oil cooler was standard.
I'm one of the poor suckers who has an automatic 335i with no oil cooler. Luckily for me, the car is leased. I have my camera phone ready to take pictures of the oil temp gauge in case it ever hits 300 this summer

I believe that many people are getting their dealerships to install this free of charge since it is now standard. I'm sure alot of that depends on your local dealership but I would definitely give it a shot.

A lot of people have talked about it but there haven't been many confirmed reports of it actually happening. Though I did read that BMW was making people sign non-disclosure agreements as part of the deal in an effort to shut them up on the message boards. If I bought/financed my car I'd be way more inclined to pursue a retrofit but since it's just a lease I don't really care that much. I don't plan on tracking it; that's what my S2000 is for.
