There's no need to be bitter...you bought your IS350 before the 335i was released. The 335i is rated at 300/300 and routinely dynos in the 270-280 RWHP neighborhood but we all know you're a hater. The 335i will beat your car in every performance category but the 3 series has been and will continue to be the benchmark. I will post baseline and with Procede dynos in the next week or so and we'll see how it stacks up against your IS. Also, the overheating issue is mainly with early build automatics before the oil cooler was standard.
Amen.

I think I'll rather have a 500hp V10 motor with an 8250 redline then a 500 V8 redlining at 7000.

Wasn't that why the AP1s were so fun to drive?
Well, this IS an S2000 forum, so the high rev numbers will be important for us

But whilst the 63 has a 7200rpm redline, it only takes effect at aorund 7400rpm (as I found out when I drove an E63).

The engine is also quite rev happy, jumps up real nice and easy, it weighs a LOT less then the V10 from BMW, has a little more power (10-15hp more?) and a LOT more torque.

Personally, I find 'those' numbers a little more interesting. I can forgive it having a few less revs in this case

But apples and oranges...

I only have one thing to say to this thread, it doesn't contribute at all, and it's very bias lol. Go BMW!
