In your experience, what car has generated the most buzz prior to launch?

I nominate the new GTR - I haven't been on boards for decades or anything, but I don't recall seeing this much buzz around any other vehicle.

It's got to be the fact that the old skyline gtr was legend, never made it to the US, was moddable like few cars are, and then it disappeared for years.

Anyways, this puppy is getting so damn much press I can't wait to see the first mag review that actually puts it on a track with a 911TT - or for Top Gear to get ahold of it...

You're all wrong. HALO 3 had the biggest pre-launch buzz.

The next NSX... although the GT-R is definitely up there.

 

The C6 Z06 had huge buzz on every car forum when it came out. It was all over 6speedonline, rennlist, viperclub, ferrarichat, here, etc.

 

Most cars have a burst of Buzz right before they are released, or at least when the specs first get released.

The GTR has probably generated the most buzz over a period of time. The first concept came out in 2001. That's 6 years ago now. Prototype mules have been pounding the best tracks around the world since that time. I don't think I've seen one car artistically rendered and predicted by magazines and fans so many times before it's release.
