Bought my Dad a car
As some of you might remember I was shoping for my Dad. The choices were:
1. MB E350.
2. Lexus GS350.
3. Hyundai Genesis 3.8.
After all the testdriving, the choices were MB E350 or Genesis. He really didn't care what car I got him. I test drove both cars again and felt that the Genesis was a great car and an amazing value. After some help from QUIKAG(I owe you a beer next track wknd) and some across the state shopping I bought my Dad a Genesis 4.6 loaded. MSRP was $43,800. I got it for $37,800 + TTL. Then added a 10/100K bumper to bumper warranty for $1175. Out the door price was $41,762. I figured an MB E350 with similar options would have been $52.5K + TTL. A E550 would have been $59K + TTL.
The car needed some serious detail work. There was adhesive all over the front and rear bumper. I advised the sales manager to not wash it! I woke up the next morning and with help of a friend completely detailed the car. We used 1/2 a bottle of 3M adhesive remover, then Dawn, claybar, Zaino AIO, Z2, detail spray and finally plastic and tire work. It took us 5 hours but the car looked great! He are the final pics.

The car had only 20 miles on it when I bought it. So I covered up the front end and drove it down to Houston to pick him up at the airport(he was on vacation while I was doing all the work).

My daughter checking out the new ride.

thats awesome! The car looks so sharp and the interior looks well detailed. Congrats on the purchase! Your dad is a very lucky man, hopefully I can do the same in the future one day.
