Default Buell's

What are the Buell X1 Lightnings like. Are they garbage. I recently own a 2000 R6. I realize that there is a huge power difference, even though the Buell is a 1200cc. It seems that it's under powered. 88HP and 74 ft-lbs. My R6 is 120hp, 68 ft-lbs.

Does anybody have any experiences with them. I am also 6'1" and wondering what the ride position would be like. I find I'm a little too big for the R6.

No experience of them myself, but your best bet for getting an idea of ride position would be to go and sit on a few in you local dealership

I've ridden my neighbors X12B and to me it's garbage but the best thing to do is go test ride one. For a company who claims to make race bikes they sure don't back it up on the tracks with wins and championships.

I would look at Honda because they normally are the easiest sportbikes to ride. I would recommend

919 for a great naked bike with attitude
VRF800/Interceptor for a unique sportbike that offers a comfortable riding position and nice power from a 800cc V4 engine.
CBR1000RR for the grand daddy bike that can be a bit tiresome for long trips but will put a huge smile on your face when you lean/brake/accelerate to your limits.

I would trade my 04 RC51 anyday for a decent Interceptor. They are very nice bikes.

Thanks for the info. I've decided to stay away from them. It's hard to find anything about them and if they were any good you would hear more. As for track bikes, I would think these would be garbage. I love the R6 I have but I think it's time for something new. As for big superbikes, I want to stay away because of insurance. There's a guy selling a 2003 GSXR600, with 20000kms, for 6995CDN. Not sure if this is a good deal or not though.

just my experience.
WHEELIE MACHINE.
had a friend that had one and the motor fell out (front engine bolts broke).
he went to the dealer and they just gave him another one and the wiring harness caught fire the same day he picked it up and burnt it to the ground.

in my book they are not worth the scrap because of this.
I am sure it happens for every manufacture but my mind is tainted because of this.
