Thinking of getting a Z4.
After a year since I bought my 2001 S2000 , I have really fallen it.
But an oppurtunity have come, that may put me in a good position to change both my cars. ( Wife drives a 2004 E46 320d and was thinking of getting an X3 instead. )
My biggest issue with the S is I do find the interior a bit on the tight side, especially in the leg width and shoulder area.
I was thinking of getting a new Z4 3.0. So I am planning a test drive as soon as the holidays are over.
So Guys I am a bit mixed up, hence this thread.
Feel free to comment.
Thanks Jes

It's based on personal preference. Test drive one and make your decision....pretty simple...
I for one can't stand BMW anymore. I have owned a few in the past. No doubt they are excellent to drive but they are a pain in the ass to maintain. I will never own one again.

Tried them both before settling on the S2000. Don't like the long high hood on the Z4, and found that it felt less nimble than the S2000. There was a bit more interior room and trunk space, plus some minor luxury touches, like a radio that adjusts volume for speed, no top latches, etc. Either one would make for a nice car. Sounds to me like you just have a hankering for something new, and that can be reason enough to change.

I do hope your reason for wanting to get a Z4 is a bit more involved than interior room.... I doubt it will be much more roomy than your S2000. I think the Z4 is a very nice car. It is not a Grand Touring car as much as Merc's SLK, but it is halfway there. If you do decide to get it, you will definitely step up your luxury and amenity game; but you lose a lot of the fun and connection with your car. The Z is capable, but I find it hard to find another car that gives the same sense of unity as the S2000.
Maybe you should consider an AP2. I remember my AP1 was beyond snug; it was like a second skin. I don't know if it changed for 2006, but my AP2 is comfortable enough. (not that there is a HUGE difference or anything). You might like an update instead of something entirely new.
