Caprice Classic
I have never herd of the older Caprice called a "Box Chevy" and the newer ones called a "Bubble Chevy". There is alot of people in my school that are in love with these cars and thats what they refer to them as. Has anyone ever herd These model car called that?
The "box" Caprice I've never heard of per se, but I'd have to assume that nickname refers to the late-70s thru 80s version.
The "bubble" one they speak of is most likely the Impala of the 60s with a very bulbous top. The "bubble" refers to the styling, how the hardtop molded into the rest of the car. That's the only Chevy I know of that was ecer called "bubble" or "bubbletop".

box was thelate 70's to late 80's sty. the bubble is th version immediatley following. they stopped production in 99?
i've never really referred to them using these terms, but i can understand why they would be used.
as for styling, if it can be called that, i think that the bubble has some pretty hideous overhangs and the looks perched on the wheels. the earlier models has a certain purposeful look to them...

I've heard them refered to that. My parents have a 93' Caprice Classic and really like that car. You can drive over logs, small kids, s2000's and not feel anything. The V-8 allows you to just float on down the highway with no effort in comfort. Just don't try to take a turn fast or stop fast.
