I think Porsche needs to tone it down a bit, they're starting to remind me of BMW's brand dilution.
Hitting the nail on the head.

I kinda want the Astro to die but all I do is add oil and gas and she keeps running.

OMG.. .an ASTRO! Panty Dropper!!! is yours AWD? (like it matters at all)...

The cayman is the better platform. Period. MR>RR. If you let the engineers within porche engineer to the best of their abilties, the cayman is the superior car. Problem is that the 911 has a strong brand that dupes affluent people who don't mind being duped for what they get in return to buy into the brand for things like the car's feel despite it being all electronic now. And how many people are sold on porsche quality? I've brought up the issue in the past with the first gen caymans/boxsters with the d chunk failure which I believe also affects 911s as wll, now Porsches is recalling all their GT3s for enging replacements. All while charging the highest profit margin in the biz. They feel like Mercedes of late 90s/early 2000s; they do just enough so they can appear competitive, but really you're buying mostly the name.
There was a time that Porsches were of high quality, that for some working on them was part of the ownership experience, that the driving dynamics were vastly superior. I'd rather drive spiritedly a 75 911 vs. a 75 vette to the point yes I would pay the premium for it. But in 2014, the lines are more blurred, and the premium is vast.
