Default CBR1000RR

Anybody buy a new '06 CBR1000RR recently?

I just sent an email to a local dealer offering $9500 out-the-door for a leftover, new red/black 2006 CBR1000RR. That's based on various advertised prices I've found from other dealers on their websites and Ebay (such as $8,865 no including TTL.) I have no idea if that's an offer they'll seriously consider, or if they'll just laugh and blow me off - who knows the prices I'm seeing could be bait-and-switch for all I know. Anyway, that's quite a bit off MSRP of $11,299 but there's a 5% dealer holdback to factor in... People were getting this price, and even cheaper, last year.

that sounds like a deal to me. I've seen ads for 9999 or 9599 OTD.

good luck. I think it's an awesome all around bike. comfortable, reliable, good looking, and it's very rider friendly.

All that, and I've read comments that it's an extremely well engineered and assembled bike.

Likewise I'm sure the '05 owners were kicking themselves then the '06 came out, and I'm sure the the 954 owners were doing the same when the 1000RR came out. And no doubt there will be some sad '09 owners when the '10 comes out... It's nothing I'm worried about, personally.

as I'm sure you'll be using every last RPM available as you are trying to keep up with DuHamel, Mladin, and the likes.
