the interesting thing is that the CTS-V probably has 200 hp on tap that is easily attained w/ simple mods. So does that fact impact BMW's decisions at all? Ie, the 2011 CTS-V could just up the boost a tad and keep up... so is it worth getting into a battle over?
The new motor in the current CTS-V is a marvel. It appears its competitors are heading in another direction. Time will tell exactly where.

So if the M5 is getting a TTV8 does that mean the next M3 will go to a TT V6?
im sure it will be a v8.
but what does it have right now?
a NA v8?
If the M cars become turboed, it would go against everything the M badge stands for.
The current M5 engine truly is amazing - better than anything Audi/Mercedes are offering.
Sure - it isn't quite upto the power level of the afore mentioned but seriously - WHO CARES?!
Imagine if the next gen M5 has 507bhp, but weighs in at 1600kg, whilst the other barges come in at nigh on 2 tons?
Horsepower sells cars, low weight wins races.
