Thumbs up Dainese Zen jacket

Hey, I'm looking at a new jacket that I can wear through the summer, and I'm looking at the Dainese Zen.

Its perforated leather with a zip out you can add for winter riding, so its basically two jackets in one and I think I can wear it year-round.

Does anyone have any experience or opinions? Any other suggestions for good leather jackets for summer riding?

Thanks,

Dainese has a VERY long history in quality m/c gear.

I wish I had never sold my first set of Dainese leathers.

Dainese has a good rep - also a good price tag, I'm just wondering if anyone here has exp with other good summer jackets, or all season dry jackets.

Its perforated across the front and sides and arms, with a zip-out liner for when its cold.

Info on the Zen:

[QUOTE]The new Dainese Zen leather motorcycle jacket features:

-Italian design and construction
-Airflow Perforation in front and on each arm
-Removable insulated winter liner
-Removable composite protectors
-Pocket for Wave G back protector
-Fixed Sanityzed

Normally ANY perf. will be cold during Winter riding but seeing how your in NC your Winter / Fall may not be that bad.

For what it's worth, I have two Dainese products - Drake Air pants, and a one-peice Laguna Seca suit. I was thinking of getting a Dainese jacket to go along with the pants since my Joe Rocket jacket doesn't zip up to the pants. Hence my interest in any opinions of the Zen jacket, since I haven't checked it out in person.

Anyway, the LS suit vents very well. I haven't worn it on a really hot day yet, though, but with some UnderArmor Heat Gear on I could feel it working to keep me cool.

The Dainese Santa Monica is the best jacket I've had, period. It is also perforated.

+1 on the Santa Monica. The leather is much softer. Had to returned the Zen once I tried on the Santa Monica. Awesome Jacket.

That looks like it be a nice casual jacket for a night on the town too.

Nice.
