Damn, the Hellcat is fast!

It's ironic, because for it's fattiness of 4400lbs it out performs the S2000 in every area....

I was reference the "if it was a track car" post above. I think it's pretty impressive a company is encouraging track use and gave a muscle car more than straight line speed

Um, okay? I am not worked up at all, I was simply joking around. When is the sarcastica font coming to the internet?
I rode in my buddy's Hellcat today. It was very fast. But the thing that surprised me was how drama-free it was. Hell, aside from the supercharger whine, the cockpit was pretty quiet. Also, the traction control was pretty impressive. The backend would get loose, but it was super easy to gather up.
Im not a fan boy of either car, so im purely unbiased, just going off what I see. So when i saw the post for "annihilates" a c7 z06 I had to take a look. Not to my surprise there was no annihilation, but simply a very slow walk away
, as I would expect 50 more hp worth of engine to achieve on a freeway pull, which is roughly what it is. Obviously there are more facets here of engineering involved then just a difference of 50hp, but again its about par for the course, and far from any an annihilation happening, it was a slow enough pull in fact that it could be enough in driver error on the vets part. I sure hope the Dodge fan boys aren't thinking the part of the vid where the c7 clearly lets off in the runs as part of the race.

This is me racing a buddy in my C6 ZR1. I'm telling you, the Hellcat is fast. On a few other runs we did, if I started in second gear or didn't shift perfect, I would get maybe a car on him to 125-130. In this run, I'm starting in 1st gear at 40ish (tops out at 60)and I hit every single shift perfect. I hit just north of 160mph and he was around 150 before shutting down. This is my 3,300lb ZR1 making 555rwhp bone stock against a 4,500 sedan with an automatic. The Hellcat is a monster.
The C7Z with the aero (especially the Stage 3 package) and more susceptible heat soak issues just isn't a highway monster so it losing to a Hellcat is not a surprise at all.

I can hit 130 in 3rd with ease... It's actually too much in most cases. First gear is the only legal gear in the car lmao. I'd love to post a video of a recent 0-130 run but, you know...
I haven't run a manual Hellcat. There aren't a ton out there period, much less manual transmission equipped ones. The 8-speed auto is quicker accelerating than the 6-speed manual. More gears and quicker shift times between gears = quicker acceleration.
Anyway, what I was trying to say is most 'normal' cars even very fast ones will lose to a Hellcat on a highway run. I had to be on my A-game to get a decent convincing win and my car isn't exactly slow.

I would love to have a run with a ZR1 and/or a hellcat. My C6Z was much faster than my C7Z in the triple digits, even before I installed the stage 3 aero (both cars bone stock). The extra 150hp certainly feels like it is there at lower speeds, but not at all on the top end. The newer model is quite a bit heavier.
