I'm a die hard Honda guy. Period, end of sentence. Assuming I was in the position to buy a brand new NSX I would do it. Being such a huge Honda fan the S2000 and NSX are my two dream cars. Some of you will probably think "Hey you ever heard of Ferrari?" LOL I'm big on all kinds of cars, but Honda is where it's at for me. Not just the cars, but the philosophy of the company too. On a side note when I graduate college in a couple of years I plan on looking into a job at Honda worldwide. I think a lot more goes along with the NSX price tag then just 290 HP. Is the car dated? Yes I do think the car is dated. Is it worth 90K? Too me it is. Unfortunately I do not see my self in the position to buy a new one a ny time soon, but I would like to buy a used one in a few years to accompany my S. I don't think the S and the X are the end all be all of motorsports, but to me they are "it".

I couldn't express this any better

I recall being excited about the NSX when it came out oh so long ago. The Ferrari fighter. It generated so much excitement that first year. One of my friends, a heart specaialist, who raced an Alfa in vintage racing was one of the first to buy one. I listened to him rave about how easy it was to drive and how un-Ferrari like it was. That was then and now is now and lot of water has passed under the bridge. Honda mistakenly allowed the car to age to the point they ruined the whole effect. To be perfectly honest I didn't even realize they still made the car until I bought my S2000 four years ago. I would never consider buying one new. It's a good luxury supercar according to every report I've ever read. I have never driven or even been one but I have passed them on the track in my S2000. If I had to chose between a used NSX and a new S2000, I go for the S2000. Honest. The Honda engineers that I talked to about the car at a track event (off the record) agreed. Honda made a statement with that car but sat on their duff ever after. All you ever hear is it has no vices. I'll take the S2000 I know it has soul.

the nsx is a sweet car...even though it is outdated a bit, it would still be my first choice if i had 85000 to waste on a new car. porsche, corvette, used ferrari...i'd always be afraid of something going wrong with it. the nsx has a stunning record of reliability. try saying that about any other 'supercar'.

Yes its dated. Very dated. The inside of it looks screams late 80s.
However, at the very least can't honda make the NSX TypeR available?? Then, just then it might warrant an $85k price tag...

Look, the Boxster S now has 280hp that's probably equal to 290hp NSX that's heavier. Boxster S costs $53K.

Boxster coupe from what I've heard will have 290-300hp and I guess will be 3000 lbs (or less). I'd guess the Box coupe will cost $52K-55K.

I know the NSX-ers want to compair the NSX to the 997 S (price wise) but that ship has sailed. The Box coupe (should) be a better car all around and the Box S is a vert which the NSX tho a targa is still not a vert.

Give me a choice of NSX v Boxster S or NSX v Boxster coupe. Either way the NSX (IMO) would sell if it was priced at $50K-$59K. brand new. That's where it belongs imo same price as a M3.

The RL makes 300hp, the NSX should make at least 350hp to compete with the 997. IMO

DAMNIT I FORGOT ABOUT THE V. The Z or the M is not available yet.

-I'm sorry but to say that "If I pay 90k for a car, it will have at least 500 HP." is pretty dumb. You got me on the Viper, but before the Viper was there any 500HP car available for $90k?

-We can discuss this till the next gen NSX comes out. Go spend a week in a Viper, a 911, and a NSX and then decide which one you want to keep for a couple of years.

CAR magazine did a bit on the Viper. They called it a joke (not in so many words), but they did say why would any sane person buy a Viper if you can get a P-car for same money and have a real car.
