Dated NSX
Wow, this thread is fun. I think I will switch sides just to keep Steve-C going.
Rarely has there been as much enthusiasm for a car as there was when the Honda NSX was launched back in 1990. It was, and still is, one of the the world's greatest mid-engine sports cars - an all aluminum masterpiece, created in Honda's low volume high technology plant.
I feel better now. I know owners of Ferrari's and Porsche's are having second thoughts.
You know what, IMO they might be had Honda carried on with what they started. There's no doubt they had something special and time does not change that. But, they needed to do more than come out with the Alex Zanardi Edition to keep pace.
One has to love Honda's ads. In a recent Acura magazine I get it showed Acura's family of Automobilies. Headline beside the NSX: A Revolutionary Exotic Coupe. And, so it was 15 long years ago and sold for about $60k.
Classic & Sports Car from the UK said "NSX owners tend to work in information technology, linked by email and the web: "We're all computer geeks," is how one owner candidly puts it." So, I was wondering, does that hold true here in the states as well?

how is it something to brag about when every other car in the price range offers 300+hp and a fresh design? Is the use of 15yo technology that impressive to some of you? There is nothing new or innovative about something that happened that long ago.
There are those who would suggest trying brag about what was done a decade and a half ago is resting on your laurels, and there is nothing innovative or impressive about that, but certainly something ludicrous.

NSX was appealing at the time I saw the 799 / mo. lease special.
At hard money 90k, I'd turn my back on the NSX and be in a 911.
03 + NSX in graphite grey is pretty pimp though, interior is s!ck... For a guy with a deep wallet, brand new NSX would be the way to go. I don't like the cheezy flip up headlights, but that's subjective. My .02

It seperates the enthusiasts from the brainwashed camp followers.
a great car is like a good old movie. sure, there are movies nowadays with better special effects, better lighting, better sound, but that doesn't change the fact that the good old movie is still better than the latest blockbuster from hollywood - and these good old movies command a premium, just like a great car commands a premium. a great car is like a beautiful woman who ages gracefully, not some slutty 18 yo who turns all wrinkly after 25.
you are no car enthusiant my friend. car enthusiants don't go around talking exclusively about performance/price, calling people morons because they are willing to pay a premium for something special (looks, heritage, innovation, etc.). and most certainly, a car enthusiant would not talk about the poor performance/price ratio of the NSX then turn around and buy a 911TT when you can get the same performance for significantly less.
no, you're just a guy that talks a lot of nonsense and does the exact opposite of what he preaches.
